Fragment Found

• Archiving History Archaeology Pottery Walking

Fragment Found is an ever-expanding archive of pottery sherds—each one a piece of forgotten history. Starting out as an online archive, inviting the public to submit their own finds, the book brings the collection back into the analog world. The publication is composed of selected artefacts from the archive alongside a series of commissioned texts by experts and enthusiasts, many of whom would not define themselves as ‘writers’. The texts - poetry, essays, flash fiction, and more - meander through the importance and joy of collecting things and the ways in which found objects can connect us to the past, revealing stories and speculations around the people who made, used and threw them away.
